ABOUT
I used to study social sciences. One day, I realised that I didn’t want my ideas to be tucked away in essays and papers. I went to Design Academy Eindhoven.
Today, I combine best of both worlds in artistic research projects, spaces,
(creative) consultancy, installations, stories, objects and publications.
That might seem diverse.
The similarity lies in the approach, of which the form is a logical outcome.
I OBSERVE, (RE)THINK & CREATE
ME
Creative. Inherently curious about a wide range of topics. Inquisitive about the world and people. Active listener. Thoughtful evaluator. Analyser. Likes insight and overview, to understand and comprehend. By asking questions. Exploring all sides of an issue and the deeper facts hiding within all modes of data. Challenging the status quo. Instinctual problem solver. Thinks in possibilities.
I believe that everything takes place with in a certain space. And that the shape of that space, the things that are in that space, and the way in which they relate to each other, determines how the space is perceived, experienced and what it brings about. Society is a space, your home is a space, a book is a space, thoughts are a space, a system is a space.
WHAT I DID AND DO
In general my core focus is the use of (theoretical / artistic) research as a basis for design/creation.
Following my time as a researcher and designer at Rem Koolhaas' multidisciplinary think tank AMO, since May 2013 I work on self initiated projects, freelance assignments and project based collaborations.
I have been lucky to work on different types of projects in a wide variety of domains: ranging from elderly care to fashion, from spatial design to business strategies from high-end art world to peoples homes.
WHY WORK WITH ME
I listen. I look. I read between the lines. I take everything in. I digest. I distinguish main issues from side issues and get to the core rapidly. I can lay a strong foundation to build on. I work with and for people. I do so by combining rationality, creativity and empathy.
