INTERPRETATION OF A GENERATION

ART, SOCIAL SCIENCE

Interpretation of a Generation is a series of 24 portraits, reflecting "Generation Y". The series is a portrait of Generation Y, based on conversations about their relation to the context in which we now live. Each face is modified to fit the proportions of the Golden Section: a visual translation of prevailing ideas about the origins and consequences of current frames of reference, 'makeability' and feasibility of ideals.

INTERPRETATION OF A GENERATION II

ART, SOCIAL SCIENCE

Interpretation of a Generation II is a follow up series of Interpretation of a Generation. This time it is about the effect current frames of reference, 'makeability' and feasibility of ideals have on their being.

INTERPRETATION OF A GENERATION III

ART, SOCIAL SCIENCE

Interpretation of a Generation III is a follow up series of Interpretation of a Generation I + II.

STATE OF MIND

ART, SOCIAL SCIENCE

A State of mind influences our perception, interaction and the way we are being perceived. A state does not always translate to words and it's not always visible.

AS IT IS. HERE. NOW. IN THESE CIRCUMSTANCES.

PORTRAYED: ELDERLY CARE INSTITUTIONS IN THE NETHERLANDS

DESIGN RESEARCH, SOCIAL SCIENCE, LIVING, COLLABORATION

This documentation provides a comprehensive and detailed picture of the current environment of the elderly and gives rise to discussion on the conservation, renewal, elimination and addition of several aspects.

LIVING WITH(OUT) CARE

DESIGN RESEARCH, SOCIAL SCIENCE, MULTI DISCIPLINAIRY

With the separation of living and care, living will increasingly be leading up care. People do not live in a care environment, but organize care in their locality. The question of what role existing venues for elderly housing could have in these self-organized practice is central to the research. The spatial aspects that influence the possibilities of existing venues for elderlycare housing will be explored in a systematic manner.

WAITING LINE

SOLUTION, SOCIAL SCIENCE, THEME PARK

Waiting is an activity. Often experienced as unpleasant. De Efteling in Kaatsheuvel (NL) -one of Europe's largest and oldest theme parks- asked to research 'waiting experiences' to later apply the findings on (one of) the designated locations in the park. This project started of with a close analysis of the situation as it currently exists on these locations and the resulting experience visitors have.

BROEDERKLASSEN

 SOLUTION, SOCIAL SCIENCE, POLITICS, EDUCATION

The concept of Broederklassen ('Brotherly Classes') is the result of a thorough research on segregation in elementary education. In particularly the larger cities in The Netherlands there is a clear pattern of segregation in elementary education.

DESIGN THINKING, BUSINESS PROCESS

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment (I & M) and Rijkswaterstaat (RWS) are preparing the implementation of the renewed Omgevingswet. It does not only aim to provide a new legal framework, but should encourage a more efficient and effective way of working as well.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Creating art and designing on a level for the happy few is great. Creating art and designing for social purposes is even better. Making an art of designing ones home is the best. Together we will create an authentic home that suits you. And I'll be happy to show you work of fellow artists and designers that might fit in your environment.

PRADA M/W SS

SET DESIGN, FASHION

Spring/Summer Prada catwalk show is conceived as a white modernist composition of shifting geometrical forms. Volumes protrude from the walls, restructuring the existing blank space. The light box, 120 metres long, hovers over the monochrome landscape, defining a line across the scattered elements.

PRADA M/W FW

SET DESIGN, FASHION

The Prada show space had been reconfigured as a huge court, laid with a massive 20- by 35-meter carpet in red, white, and black. That giant carpeted red square felt like the flooring in a conference hall in one of the palaces where cabals of diplomats and military men once met to decide the world's fate at a turning point in history.' 1912-2012: CHRONICLES OF A CREATIVE ITINERARY

STORY TELLING, EXHIBITION, RETAIL, HISTORY

By delving deeply into the archives of Galeries Lafayette, the story of the changes experienced by this famous department store is pieced together. In retrospect several chapters that represent periods of 'business strategy', that have influenced the identity and activities of Galeries Lafayette in the past, are defined.
